004 Is revenge a more powerful motivator than protection?

Topics for discussion: 004, USA, Osama Bin Laden, Terrorism

The Generals and the Politicians of the United States might not have had even their forty winks of sleep, till they annihilated their bete noir Osama Bin Laden. Laden caused them nightmares for nearly eleven years.

The slaughter Laden Operation was essentially that of revenge. Laden too might have had his own reasons of revenge against the U.S. Government. Yet, he should not have destroyed innocent people.

The Pirates of Somalia have been causing greater damage to the World Marine Transportation. The United States and the NATO Nations have done very little to guard at least the European and the American Vessels passing through the Suez Canal.

Why so much special interest on Osama and so little interest on the menace of the Pirates? The Pirates have been holding the crews of many Nations as hostages, to extort ransom.
